Depends on what they are serving. If you’re not sure, go for a dessert wine for after dinner. Just be sure and let them know what it is as many people go their whole lives without buying a dessert wine.
For a white wine, I like Vidal Blanc varieties. For Blush, I like Blush Muscadine. It also keeps you away from what I call the "White Zin trap". Everyone seems to drink that as their first wine and then never go beyond it in the realm of Blush wines. For a red, go for a Sangiovese variety. Or, if you’re afraid to rock the boat, so to speak, go for Burgundy. For a dessert wine, you can go with a Cream Sherry or Cabernet Sauvignon Port for something less sweet.
Those are my favorite last minute, can’t miss without trying wines anyway.
oooo ice wine it goes best with dessert
I think a sweet wine is a good idea. Personally I really don’t care for dry or strong wines. Ask your local wine or liquor shop for ideas too. That way you also know what is available in your area.
