What is the most popular type of wine?
I want to plant a vineyard and I’m leaning towards Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sovnignon. Anyone have any advice or suggestions? Cabernet Franc is far less common than Cabernet Sovnignon.

The most popular grape (and wine), by far, is Chardonnay. It is also the grape used in making Champagne.
If you are just starting out in wine making, I would start with the most trouble free grape. Do some research on that. Then spread out to other grapes.

Cabernet Sauvignon is by far the best selling red wine, with Merlot a close second.
As for white’s. Chardonnay is definitely the top choice with Sauvignon Blanc coming in second.
Cab Franc is typically used in blends in small percentages, but the average wine drinker wouldn’t even be aware that it exists.
Instead of popularity of a certain varietal, I would plant a vineyard with grapes that are most suitable to the particular climate in which you live.
at my house it is Zinfandel and when it is available I like the chenin blanc but I have noticed some years it is not available
