What wine would you recommend?
Here’s the info:
1. It’ll be an evening/late-night get-together
2. We’ve sort of settled on red wine
3. We will not be drinking the wine to food
4. The budget is about 15 US$
5. We don’t usually drink wine
I’d like to buy a good wine based on this information.
Based on points 1, 2 and 5 and a bit of research I think the heavier wines like Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon aren’t so suitable. But what do you think? What wine would you recommend?
I live in Asia by the way, so Australian wine is most accessible. Haven’t seen many American wines, but quite a few European ones.

I wouldn’t say that a nice Cabernet Sauvignon wouldn’t be suitable, but I’m biased, as I *really* do like Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s Australian, so should be readily available, and I would guess it’s about that price range as it $17.99 here, but that’s Canada where wine is overpriced.
Edit:
Just read the recommendation above me and it prompted me to do a Google search - yes, apparently Wolf Blass do a Yellow Label Pinot Noir too, so that would be a contender… Sadly I’ve not seen it sold anywhere around here :o(
then the god old american box wine is out sorry i tried . it is about $12 USD for a box and a cabernet is good.
Pinot Noir is a nice light red wine so this may be one you want to consider.
