Red wine is for everyone. If he is a wine drinker, I’d try to find out what variety of wine he likes best. (Cabernet, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Merlot, etc.). You could go to a local wine shop and have them recommend a good wine in your price range or do some research online on sites such as http://www.cheers2wine.com/wine-picks.html.

No, guys like red wine too. Cabernet is a good bet because it’s the most common. Buy a good bottle though, like Kendall Jackson (which is often the premium wine by the glass served at upscale restaurants– it’s better than the lower end house wine but not ultra expensive).
Red wine is for everyone. I recommend a Merlot from California (either Sonoma or Napa county). Delicious.
Wine is a more feminine gift. A more befitting gift for a man would be spirits like brandy, rum, or scotch.

Yep. Just give him a case of Bud or a fifth of Jack Daniels, if he is straight. If he goes the other way, give him a bottle of Brandy.
