You should not store wine in a garage.
Red wine should be kept around 56 degrees, out of direct sunlight and in a humid enviornment.

White wine a bit colder around 45 degrees, but you can get away with 56 degrees fro white as well.

The other answerer was completely correct about the wine temps and not storing it in your garage. I would add that wine should be kept in the dark when at all possible.

Have you considered purchasing a used fridge to use for your wine storage if you don't want to purchase a chiller? Keep it at about 48 degrees. It could be kept in your garage--problem solved.

I would have to agree with every other answer on here. If you value your wine collection or want to be drinking healthy, good tasting wine, you need to store your wine in a cool, moist, dark, environment without vibration and odors. The garage does not usually pass as this spot.

Take advantage of a basement area that will be dark and cooler than the garage and make sure you get wine racks that are resistant to rot, in case you live in a seasonal part of the country.

If you are still set on getting wine racks for the garage, below is a source you might find informative.

You can buy kits , Wall Mart sells them or Target if you are in the States.
But why would you keep wine in the garage ? The temperature is not appropriate to keep wine in there .
