Which cities should we visit in Oregon wine country?
We are planning a trip next August and are scoping out the area to live/vacation. The more mountainous the better!

Mcminnville and Carlton are two great cities to visit on your trip. They are in close proximity to some of our region’s mountains and are in the heart of the Willamette Valley AVA. You can find plenty of open wineries and dining opportunities nearby. And you can go by bike!
I live in Portland and it is quite easy to make day trips from there as well. Check out this great website that the Willamette Valley Wineries Association has put together. It has almost all of the local wineries listed with their hours and a great interactive map. http://www.willamettewines.com/map.shtml
Have fun in the Valley. I love it here.
A trip through Oregon’s Willamette valley is a great place for wine tasting. We did this a few years ago. Winery guides are free and available once you are in the area. You will be looking for highway 99W.
In Dundie is a number of big name wineries this includes Archery Summit and Domain Douhin.
In Beaverton is Ponzi. Ponzi has a historical significance in the history of the Willamette Valley.
In Carlton is our favorite a tasting room for small labels.
I suggest you call Owen Roe winery for an appointment. They only do private tasting.
