I’d like to see your scientific citation regarding red wine, or any kind of alcohol, being good for the liver. Don;t just throw stuff like that out there without a source: some people will believe you.
alcohol is alcohol (Molecular formula=C2H5OH). whether it’s in red wine, vodka, or malt liquor, alcohol is processed the same way by the liver. however, if red wine is consumed moderately (1 glass a day), there is some research that shows polyphenols in red wine found in the skin of red grapes have a protective effect on cells (including cells in the liver) and have strong antioxidant properties. there is also a lot of hype around reservatrol (a chemical found in red wine) that has shown to have powerful anti-aging properties. the problem is, you need to drink gallons of red wine a day to get the amount of reservatrol that has shown benefit in pre-clinical testing. and we all know what happens if you drink gallons of red wine every day, DING! you destroy your liver over time because of the alcohol. my suggestion for you is: everything in moderation. that’s what kept my grandfather alive until he was 100. he drank a little wine every day.
There is no difference in the alcohol. It is the same pure substance. The differences are the other thousands of natural ingredients/impurities.
