Why do wine labels brag about being “sulfite free”?
I like an occasional glass of wine from the retail, usually less than ten dollars, but I read some of the labels and it advertises no sulfites or “contains sulfites”. Should I care?

Besides asthmatics and people with allergens, some people receive massive headaches from sulfites in the red wines. They dilate the veins and some people react very badly to this.
If you’re asthmatic, you betcha. People with allergies to aspirin need to steer clear of sulfites, too. Reactions can be fatal and it always requires treatment at an emergency room.

Some people are highly allergic to Sulfites
You’d only care if you were allergic to sulfites. I have a family member who is, so she cares and has to check labels.
