Will I be able to take wine in my checked suitcase while traveling in Europe?
I am studying abroad in Italy, but visiting Germany first for a week. I will have about 4 bottles of finger lakes wine to give away as gifts. I want to know if I will be able to get through customs in both countries with this wine in my CHECKED BAG?

Whether the bottles are in your checked luggage or not is irrelevant to the customs authorities. You can bring up to 4 litres of wine (+ 1 litre of liquor / 2 litres of fortified wine + 16 litres of beer) into the EU.
