WINE COUNTRY IN FRANCE?
Going to be in Paris then wanting to travel from January 3-8th with my girlfriend. We really want to go to wine country. We love the great food, wine and ambience of the Napa Valley region. What area comes close to that or probably bette than that? Thanks.

Have a look at this Wiki re the different wine regions in France (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_wine#Wine_regions_of_France ). Two of the most prominent areas are Bordeaux and Burgundy, but as you can see from the map it’s also not that close to Paris so you’ll need to account for travelling time to get to/fro these regions. Provence would also be a great region to be in, not only for wine but also for the Mediterranean living, food, herbs and cultures.
Now, the thing is, it’s not sunny California in France in January, and with Epiphany on the 6th, I’m not sure if there would be many wineyards open for visit and touristy tours may be overpriced.
you’ll have to travel south, thats where the majority of wineries re located.
